Cognitive Hypnotherapy

Why & How
Home / Cognitive Hypnotherapy

As a Cognitive Hypnotherapist I have been through a rigorous and accredited training programme. I use different approaches to help individuals break free from limiting beliefs and negative behaviour. Cognitive Hypnotherapy draws on different disciplines such as Evolutionary Psychology, Positive Psychology, Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Hypnotherapy and incorporates them into a framework for highly effective therapy.

Recent research has shown that the subconscious mind is responsible for 90% of our daily behaviour. The subconscious seeks to protect us by keeping us away from situations that it views as unpleasant, based on what it has experienced in the past. Maybe as a child you appeared in a school play and forgot your lines.  The audience laughed (most likely because they found it adorable) and you felt embarrassed. Now as an adult you have an issue with public speaking. When you have to give a presentation you become ‘emotionally hijacked’ by the subconscious. This results in behaviour you cannot control such as a shaky voice, sweating, your mind going blank and a feeling of terror.

Cognitive Hypnotherapy is solution focussed and I work with clients to uncover the source of their problem. This then allows them to ‘reframe’ the issue and instil positive behaviour moving forward. Each client is unique and the way in which they experience their problem is specific to them. I tailor treatments to each client and there are no set scripts. I employ the best cutting edge techniques, allowing the most effective change to take place in the shortest time possible.
